2 thermal power stations in Africa

Frisomat recently built 2 thermal power stations in Africa. One in Burkina Faso, Western Africa and one in Madagascar, Southeast Africa.

1) Thermal power station for the Mana Gold Mine in Burkina Faso

Gold digging companies have a big interest in Africa. To dig gold you need good infrastructure. This ranges from electricity, bulldozers to pre-engineered steel buildings (PEB). Frisomat participates in the development of the Mana Gold Mine in Burkina Faso, Africa. Our client, Bia Overseas, was in need of an industrial building to house the Cummins generators, needed to power the machinery for the gold mine.

The solution we provided was an pre-engineered industrial building, perfectly suited for the job. Gold mines are full of dust, dry and infamous for the harsh desert conditions. Especially in Africa. The Sigma buildings house the crucial and extremely precious generators. The buildings guarantee a safe shelter to keep everything up and running. Besides a well-ventilated room for the generators, the buildings also house the control rooms.

Built in only 14 days, the 800m² steel building was one of the first constructions to be erected for the development of the gold mine. The complete construction works of the gold mine were 2 months ahead of schedule.

2) Thermal power station for the Ambohimanambola power
plant in Madagascar

The need for electricity is continuously increasing, more than ever in Africa. New infrastructure must be built to keep up with the electricity demand. Frisomat participated in the development of the Ambohimanambola power plant in Madagascar, Africa.

We have provided 2 Sigma industrial buildings which house several CAT-generators. In order to install the generators correctly, a few modifications had to be done to our steel structures. A lot of heat is generated inside the buildings, therefore an ventilation system had to be puzzled out. Both sidewalls of the buildings are modified as such to canalize the heat outside. Adjoining the rooms for the generators, the control rooms are situated to guarantee a fast intervention in case of.
